New Star Trek XI: The Gag Reel

A gag reel from Star Trek XI has hit the Internet ahead of the November 17th release of the DVD and Blu-ray sets.
Laughter, bleeped expletives, dancing, drumming, and other hijinks makes the six-minute-plus gag reel seem like it finishes in only half the time.“It’s a good thing I’m drunk,” says John Cho in one scene. In another scene where Spock is preparing to fly the Jellyfish for the first time, Kirk and Spock speak their lines with faux accents, trying but failing to keep straight faces.
Even the kids get in on the act. “Citizen, what is your name?” asks an officer pulling over a young Jim Kirk back in Iowa. “Bryan Burk,” what’s yours?” says the young man, never cracking a smile.
This short gag real is pretty funny in some places, but in several places the clips go by too quick to really tell what was going on.I hope you enjoy it.

EDIT: Sorry folks. It looks like it has been taken off-line.

I watched the movie G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra last night. I can only say, it was probably the second best movie I have seen this year.
The acting was good, the story was very good, the special effects were pretty good. I believe anyone who enjoyed watching the series as a kid will appreciate this movie along with all the little bits thrown in from the series, but you do not have had to seen anything about G.I. Joe before to enjoy this film. Everything was explained well enough for anyone to know the story.
Overall, I have to say that I recommend this to anyone that likes a good story or a good action movie or just a G.I. Joe fan.

Movie Review: Bangkok Dangerous

Synopsis:

Swapping Pawalit Mongkolpisit’s mute Thai hitman from the original 1999 film for Nicolas Cage’s brooding (but talking) American assassin, this version is less moody and stylized. Still, fans of Cage, and action aficionados who favor exotic locales, should find much to chew on in this unique thriller in which Cage plays a hitman.

BANGKOK DANGEROUS has an unglamorous slickness that makes it seem as if it could’ve been made in the late 1980s or early ’90s. Cage is appropriately stoic as Joe, and sports a bizarre mane of jet-black hair. The Bangkok locations are effective and the crowded nighttime streets make for exciting chase sequences. The onscreen violence is not exceptionally graphic with the exception of a realistic arm severing, and one sequence of bullets puncturing a boat as seen from underwater is beautifully shot. Most surprising, though, is the film’s final sequence, which is uncharacteristic of most American-made action yarns.

Starring: Nicolas Cage, Chakrit Yamnarm, Charlie Yeung,Panward Hemmanee, Nirattisai Kaljaruek, Dom Hetrakul

Director: Oxide Pang, Danny Pang

I watched this movie the other night and I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn’t that bad at all. It was a little slow in places, but the acting was good, the story was good and the effects were good as well.
I recommend watching this movie if you like action shows with a pretty good stroy.

Movie Review: Superman/Batman – Public Enemies

Synopsis:

Lex Luthor has been elected President of the United States, he’s using an earthbound Kryptonite asteroid as grounds for declaring a 1 billion bounty on the head of Superman. Now, the two heroes must team up to save both the planet.

Cast:

Kevin Conroy (Batman/Bruce Wayne)
Tim Daly (Superman/Clark Kent)
Clancy Brown (Lex Luthor)
Xander Berkeley (Captain Atom)

I watched the movie Superman/Batman: Public Enemies the other night and I have to say that I was surprised as to how much I enjoyed it. I had not heard very many good things about it, so my hopes were not high, but it turned out to be a very enjoyable movie with some very cool parts for those of us who have been super hero fans for a long time. There are several things that happen that we have always wondered about and a lot of old characters come into the show, if only for a very short time.
The animation was good, for the old school style of cartoons. The voice acting was ok and the story was very good.
Overall, I must say, if you are a Super Hero fan, I think you will really enjoy this short movie.

Movie Review: Thick as Thieves

Synopsis:

A master thief (Morgan Freeman) recruits a notorious thief (Antonio Banderas) to help him steal two famous Faberge eggs from an impenetrable vault in an effort to pull off one final job and repay his debt to the Russian mob.

I watched the movie Thick as Thieves the other night and I was pleasantly surprised. It was much better than I thought it would be. The acting was very good, the special effects were good, the acting was good and the story was very good. There were some surprises in this film that I did not see coming and I really appreciate that since it is hard to come by these days.
I recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys a good story with interesting turns.

Movie Review: Ice Age 3 – Dawn of the Dinosaurs

Synopsis:

Manny, Sid, Diego, and Ellie are back in this third film in the computer-animated Ice Age series. With those creatures in starring roles, fans also get another dose of the vocal talents of Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary, and Queen Latifah, who are joined by SHAUN OF THE DEAD’s Simon Pegg. In ICE AGE: DAWN OF THE DINOSAUR, Manny and Ellie are expecting their first baby, while Sid the sloth tries an unconventional way of starting a family that gets him into trouble. With all this talk of babies, Diego might be losing his saber-toothed edge, but a journey to save Sid may just turn the whole group into heroes. In addition to all that adventure, it wouldn’t be an Ice Age film if Scrat weren’t on a desperate hunt for an acorn, but he might get distracted by a shapely female squirrel.

I watched this movie the other night and I have to say it was pretty good. A lot better than the second one which for some reason just didn’t have the feeling as the first one. The animation is great, the story is very good and the voice acting is top notch.
Overall it was a very enjoyable film and if you liked the first one, I think you will enjoy this one as well.

TWJ – Fort Mill, SC to Sterling Heights, MI

I picked up a run thursday in Fort Mill, South Carolina and dropped it off friday morning in Sterling Heights, Michigan.
After spending the night at a rest area and hanging out there for a few hours, I got a call to pick up a run. I drove over to pick it up and it was supposed to have been ready like the day before, but I had to wait about 2 hours to get loaded this time.
I had four kids of auto parts for Ford. I got loaded and drove it all night and dropped off friday morning at the Ford plant.
After getting unloaded, I drove about 50 miles south to a rest area and got some well needed sleep.

Here is the route I took.

TWJ – Bicknell, IN to Kings Mountain, NC

Wednesday, I picked up a run in Bicknell, Indiana and dropped it off in Kings Mountain, North Carolina.
The run was supposed to have been ready when I got there, but I ended up having to wait about an hour to get loaded. I finally got loaded with 10 doors for Mack truck assembly plant.
I drove all night over the mountains and got there around 2 am and had to search for quite a while to find the place. It was about 5 miles outside the town it was supposed to be in and set way back off the road with a little bitty address sign.
Luckily, I was able to get unloaded when I got there instead of having to wait till the next morning, so after unloading, I drove to a rest area about 2 miles down the road and spent the night.

Here is the route I took.

Movie Trailer: Disney’s A Christmas Carol

Synopsis:

“Disney’s A Christmas Carol,” a multi-sensory thrill ride re-envisioned by Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Robert Zemeckis, captures the fantastical essence of the classic Dickens tale in a groundbreaking 3-D motion picture event. Ebenezer Scrooge (Jim Carrey) begins the Christmas holiday with his usual miserly contempt, barking at his faithful clerk (Gary Oldman) and his cheery nephew (Colin Firth). But when the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come take him on an eye-opening journey revealing truths Old Scrooge is reluctant to face, he must open his heart to undo years of ill will before it’s too late.

This is the first long preview I have seen for Disney’s A Christmas Carol and I have to say, I think I am really looking forward to seeing this movie.
