New Elvis Mr. Potato Head on the Way

Posted on January 28, 2011

Yesterday I put up a post about the new “Star Trek” Mr. Potato Head figures on the way and low and behold, it looks like there is going to be another “Elvis” Mr. Potato Head figure released later this year as well.

The first Elvis Mr. Potato Head was called “Elvis: Live” and looked like this.

The new Mr. Potato Head Elvis Presley figure, under license from HASBRO and Elvis Presley Enterprises and made by PPW is still being kept quite. I do know it is based on the 1968 Comeback Special and is supposed to be revealed at the 2011 New York Toy Fair. Look for an image to finally be released around Valentines Day.

Components for each of the Elvis Mr. Potato Head figures are interchangeable, so you can mix and match arms, faces, hairstyles and instruments from one version to the other.

PPW Toys and EPE have limited the production for each version of Mr. Potato Head Elvis figures to enhance the appeal to collectors. Additionally, 500 lucky consumers found an undisclosed “Gold Guitar” in their package of “Elvis Live” last year and PPW Toys has something special planned for the “’68 Special” version as well!

“Mr. Potato Head Elvis ’68 Special” will be at specialty retailers and e-tailers on February 13, 2011. The cost is $20.00.
